The little things make a big difference in life. The same is true in style. A fancy suit or an expensive pair of jeans will start you down the path of better fashion, but it’s the small things---the ties, belts, and suspenders---that will get you to your destination.

Getting the loose ends of your wardrobe tied up is easy if you just pay attention, and most of it is common sense. We all know that expensive jeans don’t mean much without a brown leather belt. And a nice pair of slacks is wasted without a dressy leather belt. And when in doubt, ask a friend (preferably female).

Though sometimes buying the right accessory isn’t so boring. You can get pretty much whatever accessory you want and it can be fashionable. It's usually not a good idea to express yourself with an American flag tuxedo that would make Dumb and Dumber proud, but an American flag tie will quench your need to be a personality without making you look like you just found a briefcase full of money.
