I ordered this sandal because they were cheap and I wanted to try a Birkinstock with an ankle strap on the recommendation of my fitness instructor. I had to order a size larger, and a narrow, and they fit perfectly. As they straps are leather, they have stretched a little bit so I can move over a hole from the widest setting. I was thrilled to discover that these had a soft footbed. There was no break-in period. This is my 3rd pair of Birkenstocks, I love 'em!

This is my third and most comfortable Birkenstock. There was no break-in period, it felt great right out of the box. Amazon's price is unbeatable at 70% off. If you have medium width feet always buy the narrow in Birkenstock. If you have trouble with the European sizes:36=5 1/2, 37=6 1/2, 38=7 1/2 and so on...If you are between sizes order up.
