They look very tough on the outside but are very comfortable on the inside. Yes, the outside may give the impression that they are built like work boots but these are among the nicest and most comfortable dress-casual shoes ever made. My only complaint is that they are somewhat bulkier than the now-discontinued Jefferson or Washington (also from Dockers) models.

I'm on my second pair of these shoes - I liked them enough the first time to buy them again. Waterproof and stainproof, they are excellent for winter-time use. They look casually dressy and keep my feet dry. Quite comfortable with little to no 'break-in' time since the soles are quite flexible. My minor complaints: I walk to work (~2 miles each way) daily and the soles on these shoes wear faster than I would like. Excellent comfort, but if you walk as many miles as I do, you'll be replacing them with some regularity. The shoe laces aren't the sturdiest either. I had to replace them on both of the pairs I've owned before the shoes had given out. All of $1.00, so hardly a major problem. Overall, they are comfortable, fashionable, and wonderfully waterproof. I'll buy them again for my winter-time walk to work. Another note, I normally wear a size 10, but I found these to be better fitted in a 10 and 1/2. Others may find the same. I purchased mine at a regular retailer (not online) the first time. I have average or maybe slightly wider than average feet.

Comfortable when standing most of the day. Soles tend to wear out a little quick.
