Maxi Dress

No matter how attractive a dress may look on your favorite movie star, if it does not suit your particular style, it will end up in your closet.  This is because every dress is made keeping in mind certain body type. For instance, maxi dress which looks so hot on tall women may not be a suitable style for a petite woman like me. The reason is, the long and flowing maxi dress could completely swallow me up, making me look shorter than I actually am. So, which dresses should be perfect for a petite frame? Let’s check out…

• To create an illusion of slender and perfectly-proportioned look, divide your petite frame by teaming up your short, tailored jacket with long pants. Complete the look with attractive high heels to add more inches. Pairing up a short skirt with a long, tunic-style top is also a good option.
• For petite ladies with hour glass frame, a slim pencil skirt hitting no lower than the knee and a jacket or blazer having nipped-in waist style would be a perfect choice. The blazer will accentuate your curves while the above-knee length skirt will lend you an elongated silhouette.
• Busty petites can opt for dresses to show off either their cleavage or legs. Focusing on the upper half of your body while covering your lower half or vice-versa is a  great way to look taller.
• Colors also have a certain effect on body frames. For instance, dresses in dark and monotone shades can create a slimmer and elongated look than lighter colors. A red dress is a perfect choice if you are going for a romantic evening out. For pale skinned women, a dark blue red dress would be an appropriate choice, while a bright red or orange red dress will be a gorgeous selection for women with dusky skin.
• Select outfits from the same color family. This is because tops and bottom in high contrast colors can make you shorter and wider. To avoid this, select a solid color top and pair it up with your cardigan or jacket and your skirt in similar, lighter hue or shade. Like, if you are opting for a dark brown top, team it up with a beige skirt and a beige cardigan or jacket. This will create a continuous, streamlined look down your entire body, making you look taller and slimmer.
• Skirts and tops which hit just above the knee are a perfect choice for petite frames. Also, opting for tops and jackets having V-shaped neckline could be a great idea. This creates the illusion of elongated frame.
• Small prints as well as vertical lines are great for enhancing your style, while creating the illusion of extra inches.
