I got these to replace a trashed pair of 1063's. They improve over the 1063's in several areas, although there is one spot where they are not as good. Durability and style are much better, as is traction. I've put these sneakers through more of a beating than the previous pair went through, and they are taking it quite well. Since the upper is less mesh and more solid construction, however, breathability is a tiny bit less perfect. The New Balance Men's MT812 Shoe (Color: Gray with Navy & Yellow) looks very good. I like the style but it did not seem as comfortable as some other New Balance Shoes that I have gotten in the past. It's expensive but it offered no spring or protection for your tired feet. After a few months wear I got used to them more but again, something is missing that makes them truly comfortable.All in all this is a good shoe for trail running.
