I wish I had read The Chief's review before I bought these shoes. I've had them a month and use them when I work out at a gym four days a week and I haven't been able to get a decent fit on my right foot. The first time I wore them after taking good care in lacing them up, they wore a raw spot at the base of my big toe on my right foot the size of a dime. I am a 70y old with type II diabetes and the last thing I need is a sore on my foot. The Chief is accurate in stating that the toe box is too small.I have managed to be able to use them w/o getting my feet chewed up, but it is always a relief to take them off at the end of the workout. They are uncomfortable. This is the last pair of New Balance shoes I will purchase and the last pair I get from an online source. Best to buy them in a store where you can try them on.

Consumer Reports rated this the #1 walking shoe so I decided to buy it. I purchased an extra wide (4EE) size and it has been a very comfortable shoe after a couple of weeks of wear. I believe this shoe has been discontinued by New Balance so it may become harder to find.
